New for 2024:  Online camping registration is no longer available.  Everyone can pay cash (no cards) at the Info Booth, where you will receive a wristband that will give you access first come, first served camping areas on Thunder Island.  2024 PCT Thru-Hikers, PCT DAYS Volunteer Staff, and PCT DAYS sponsor staff will be able to camp on Thunder Island beginning on Thursday, August 15th, beginning at 4pm.  Camping on Thunder Island to everyone else opens at 8 am on Friday, August 16th and closes 10am on Sunday, August 18th, (when all campers and tents must be off of Thunder Island.)  Free overnight parking in the school lot across from the entrance to the Marine Park is staffed from 8am – 8pm each day, so plan to arrive in that time span.  Staff and security will be onsite to assist attendees with collecting fees, camping check in and monitoring the area. 

For Tent Camping on Thunder Island:

Overnight camping on Thunder Island is open to the public for $20 per person, per night or $40 per person for Friday & Saturday nights.  If arriving by car, event staff will direct you where to park in the Cascade Locks School Field lot, located just off of WaNaPa Street and across from the entrance to the Marine Park.  The parking lot is open 8am – 8pm, so plan to arrive during that time, otherwise you might not get a spot.  Parking is free and you will need to carry campsite items a short walk into the Marine Park / Thunder Island.  

For Car Camping or if you have an RV, etc.:

No car camping is allowed in the parking lot or on the festival grounds.  There are additional places to camp nearby in your RV or car, which can be found here in addition to town services:  https://cascadelocks.com/.  Accommodations fill up fast, so it is recommended to book ASAP!  

Camping  Information & Rules:

1. Alcohol is not permitted on Thunder Island, this will be enforced by event staff and security 24 hours per day of the event.

2. To minimize waste and the risk of injuries, there is a no glass policy at PCT DAYS.  If you show up with glass, you will not be permitted to enter the event and camping area.

3. No dogs other than registered service animals are allowed at PCT DAYS.  Please leave them at home and do not leave any animal in a parked car!

4.  No campfires are allowed.  No grills, but small hiking / camping stoves are ok and you may bring coolers, food, non-alcoholic beverages, etc.  Avoid glass bottles of any kind.  No use of drones is allowed on Thunder Island or at PCT DAYS without prior approval by the Port of Cascade Locks and the event director.  

5.  Please don’t relieve yourself on Thunder Island!  The bathrooms and portable toilets are a short walk away from Thunder Island and located throughout the Marine Park, which are serviced daily.

6.  Quiet hours in the Marine Park are 10 pm – 8am, which will be enforced by event staff and security.  Have fun, but be cool to others!

7.  24 hr. event security staff will be at PCT DAYS to ensure to the safety of attendees and to keep watch over the area overnight.  Security staff will be onsite and local police will be making the rounds as usual at any festival.  If necessary, security staff will be prepared to contact local authorities in the case of an incident or medical emergency.  Please keep valuables such as wallets, cell phones, etc. on hand at all times during the event.

8.  Anyone under 18 years old may camp for free, but must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
